USS Duxbury Bay (AVP-38)

Gina went to Duxbury Beach the other day and saw the above taking place. A memorial service called, "The laying of the wreath" was taking place as the pictures above show.

USS Duxbury Bay (AVP-38) was a Barnegat class small seaplane tender in the United States Navy, named for a bay on the coast of Massachusetts. She was launched 2 October 1944 by Lake Washington Shipyard, Houghton, Washington; sponsored by Mrs. R. E. Torkelson; and commissioned 31 December 1944, Commander F. N. House in command. She was named for a bay on the coast of Massachusetts.

I heard at work that they are looking
for another light keeper for this
lighthouse. Gina says she might be
interested !!

The house is private property.

New Jersey Sunrise

We left Bethlehem, Pa. at 5:30 am and made
it to New Jersey before sunrise. We arrived at
our apartment around 12 pm. No elevator, so we
carried all our stuff across a parking lot and up
to the third floor. We were exhausted to say the least.
The hospital is about 3 miles from our apartment
and easy to get to.
The apartment here is a little smaller than the one I had
in Alameda and no stream out the back door like in
Alameda.

Leaving on a jet plane...not

Well, tomorrow we start our journey to Mass.
The time here at home has gone by so fast.
It is now time to start making money again!
This will be a two day trip. We hope to arrive
at our Mass. destination by early afternoon on
Saturday.

NOTE: There may not be a post for a few days
due to traveling and getting internet set up at our
apartment.

Stay tuned................
