USS Hornet at sea during WWII.The USS Hornet(1943-1945) was Dad's ship in WWII. The USS Hornet CV12 was never hit by enemy fire. My nephew, Ashley, and I toured the ship on Armed Forces Day. The admission price was going to make "goodie bags" for the troops in Iraq and Afganistan. This was an emotional visit on the Hornet. You see, my Dad passed away in Feb. and I visited his ship in May.
