Alameda and California Weather

My current residence is in Alameda which is an island in the "east bay" of the San Francisco bay.

The pic. above is the SF skyline at sunset as seen from near my apartment. The bridge is the Bay bridge which connects Oakland to SF.

The San Francisco bay is divided into different sections. The north bay is near San Rafael (pronounced San Rafel) and Richmond. The east bay which consists of Oakland and Alameda and the south bay near Fremont and San Jose. The SF bay is bounded on the west by the "Pennisula" which is where SF, San Mateo, San Bruno and Burlingame are located.

The weather here in the bay area is so nice. It is sunny about 95% of the time. The temperature is usually in the upper 50's, 60's and low 70's during the day and in the upper 40's and 50's during the night. During the summer there is an increase in the fog in the bay area which contributes to the temperatures being so mild. Mark Twain once said, "the coldest winter I ever saw was the summer I spent in San Francisco."

Until next time................
