The First Congregational Church Bennington, Vt.

The First Congregational Church is located
on the west side of Old Bennington on Route 9.

The church was built in 1805. This church
building is the second meeting house of
Vermont's oldest Protestant religious
organization that started in 1762.

In 1937 the church was remodeled to include
a new altar. Also, in 1937 the church building
was renamed as Vermont's Colonial Shrine.

Maple leaves that had fallen from the tree and lay
on the ground underneath it.

The tree from which the above leaves
fell stands in front of the church building.
